Party Chief - Midland, TX (Finance)
Acts as party chief for field survey crew engaged in making plane and/or geodetic surveys for construction, topographic, right-of-way, and control survey projects.
Gathers field survey data through use of conventional and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods, sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
Ensures proper operation and maintenance of company equipment
Records survey by preparing field notes, records, drawings, and applicable field equipment/hardware and software systems.
Completes projects in a timely, efficient and effective manner with deadlines and budgets in mind.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Must have a reliable work truck.
Must be able to perform job duties in various terrains and climates.
Experience in preliminary and as-built surveys
Ability to prepare maps, drawings and charts for field notes.
Ability to engage in field work for extended periods and occasionally under adverse weather conditions as necessitated by work assignments.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches
Experience with Trimble equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed both outdoors and in an office environment. Outdoor work may be conducted at landfills, construction sites, and in traffic. To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents may be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as including lifting and carrying instruments weighing up to 75 pounds over rough terrain. Incumbents may also be required to clear vegetation, dig holes, and pound stakes with hand tools.
