Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Inventory Associate (Shipping) for our Joplin, Missouri factory. The primary function of the poisition is: Provide Supply Chain support to production by insuring materials and components are received staged and shipped in accordance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming or outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, shipping orders or other records.
Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves or pallets according to predetermined sequence, such as product code, and date of delivery.
Fills work orders, shipping advice or bill of lading for stock items and finished goods and distributes items to production areas or to pallets for shipment.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments: recording shortages, while counting, sorting and packing.
Conveys material and items from production areas or warehouse by hand, hand truck, or electric forklift truck.
May perform dock audits, cycle count inventory, receive incoming goods, pull orders or unload steel bars to outside holding area.
Perform transactions as required within an ERP system to ensure inventory accuracy. Transactions may be performed on a desktop PC or handheld device.
Required to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Formal prerequisites for the position (e.g. training, experience, education etc.)
Some manufacturing and inventory control experience is preferred. Preferred inventory control experience includes: cycle counting, familiarity with ERP software (SAP), shipping and standard inventory control practices. Experience working with simple machines is preferred but not firmly required. Must be able to obtain fork truck operator license.
