Banquet & Event Staff (Hiring for Ages 16 and Older) (Finance)

Employees must be enthusiastic about interacting with guests and providing excellent customer service. Must be able to work varied work schedules. Wear the correct company-issued uniform for the scheduled shift. Uniforms may vary based on event location. Must be willing to conform to company grooming and food safety hygiene requirements.
Shifts may fall between 5 a.m. to as late as 12.30 a.m. Must be flexible and able to work various shifts, including days, nights, and holidays. Must be available to work weekends.
Must be 16 years or older for a cook/bus position. Must be at least 18 years or older to serve beer and be able and willing to work past 12:30 a.m., as needed. May be required to work past scheduled shifts, including overtime, as needed. Must obtain a CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire (we help you get this-do, do not worry) or show proof of existing CA Food Handler card. Must get ABC Certified within the first 30 days.
Job Tasks
Greet guests and be able to answer guests' questions and provide consistent, friendly, and helpful Guest Service
Understand and follow all food safety procedure.
Sell beer and wine in conformance with state law and company policies
Be knowledgeable about the food we are serving
Operate cash register, collect money and determine thee correct change
Follow cash handling policies as explained by the supervisor and employee guide
Under direction, cook and prepare a variety of foods, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and sides
When cooking, acknowledge guest count and buffet needs; prepare food; and inform runners when the food order is ready
Clean up the event area and work areas
Perform in-depth cleaning duties at the beginning and/of end of each shift. This includes dishwashing duties and facilities clean up (stacking chairs, mopping, vacuuming, etc.)
Maintain safety and sanitation requirements
Inform the lead team member and/or supervisor of any concerns or issues
Perform other work as assigned

Qualifications: Training and Experience
Must excel at providing outstanding Guest Service. Experienced in banquet service preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to provide consistent, friendly, and helpful service to employees and guests
Ability to follow company policies and procedures (Emergency Action Plan, Food, Cash, Uniform Policies, Alcohol training, Safety, etc.)
Ability to follow verbal and written directions
Ability to adapt to and conform to a variety of service event styles (formal, causal, intimate, and corporate)
Under direction, ability to prepare a variety of food cuisine.
Ability to multitask and work in a very fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure with speed and accuracy, and efficiency
Ability to use proper lifting and back safety procedures and techniques
Ability to learn to operate a cash register and to make the accurate change
Ability to stay focused on the job while filling the needs of many guests
Ability to work in a team environment and anticipate the needs of peers and guests
Ability to respond appropriately to difficult customer service situations and involve superior
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to obtain CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire
Ability to obtain ABC training within 30 days of the job, if serving Alcohol
Physical Requirements
Able to walk, bend, stretch and stand for up to eight hours at a time
Able to climb stairs
Able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds from ground to waist height
Able to understand food service orders
Able to see to ensure the quality of products and equipment
