Road Maintenance Supervisor (Construction)
Assures a safe workplace by actively participating in the company safety program.
Directs the work of approximately sixteen (16) hourly Green Diamond union employees engaged in all aspects of road maintenance activities and log hauling on Company roads.
Implements the "Working Agreement" rules between Green Diamond Resource Company and the Union.
Administers and coordinates 3-5 contractors that provide dump trucks, water trucks, graders, excavators, and dozers to support road rocking, construction, improvements, and maintenance operations.
Oversees the construction of new roads and improvement of existing roads to support logging operations.
Supervises the installation of permanent and temporary watercourse crossings under approved permits.
Coordinates with company logging supervisors and logging contractors to ensure that roads are available for log hauling as scheduled.
Supervises activities of company log trucks to ensure that logs are safely and efficiently hauled from the landing to the lumber mill or yard.
Supervises employees in maintenance activities to support winter log hauling, prevent storm damage to company roads and minimize the introduction of sediment into watercourses from company roads during the winter.
Coordinates road stabilization for active haul roads during the summer months. Road watering is accomplished with company and contract water trucks. Schedules road grading operations conducted with company and contract graders.
Supervises company and contract road rocking capacity.
Assures all road work meets Company standards, Timber Harvest Plan (THP) requirements, Aquatic Habitat Conservation Plan (AHCP) standards, Forest Practice Act standards, and standards established in other agreements.
Coordinates the activities of roughly thirty (30) pieces of heavy equipment during the height of the operating season.
Where you'll work:
You will supervise the work of company and contract road crews on Green Diamond's privately held forest property, located in Humboldt county along the Northern California coast. This office is located in Crannell, CA nestled in the forest where redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean.
Compensation Details:
Annual salary range: $72,264 - $108,396 per year. The wage is just one part of Green Diamond's total compensation package. Other rewards include eligibility to receive an annual company financial bonus and the opportunity to receive a performance-based bonus, candidate referral bonuses, and spot bonuses.
