Human Resources Coordinator (Human Resources)

Job Description: The HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting the HR team with implementation and administration of policies and procedures as well as overseeing the recruitment process and pre-boarding/onboarding process.  This role provides transactional and administrative support for HR initiatives, community relations and employee engagement programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the internal and external recruitment and employment process for jobs and supports management with their recruitment and employment process.

  • Recruits for all exempt, non-exempt and hourly positions in the facility.  This includes meeting with hiring supervisors and managers to develop a recruitment strategy, utilization of appropriate recruiting sources.   

  • Responsible for coordination and processing of weekly union payroll.

  • Conducts candidate screening and schedules interviews and pre-employment testing.

  • Administers orientation and oversees the preboarding/onboarding process.

  • Maintains Human Resources related records ensuring confidentiality and limited access according to procedure.

  • Ensures legal compliance with all federal and state regulations applicable to the human resources area. Monitors human resource processes for compliance, posts notices, maintains records, investigates and resolves employee complaints and recommends changes necessary to achieve compliance.

  • Administers other employee benefit programs such as uniforms, personal protective equipment, employee recognition, company events, etc.

  • Assist with site events such as employee recognition, company events, new hire orientation, training programs, volunteer events and campaigns and other HR related projects. 

  • Administers and supports core human resources policies and procedures of the facility as well as corporate policies and procedures.  Assures consistent interpretation of policies and procedures across departmental lines within the manufacturing facility.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Greet and welcome visitors. Answer, screen and forward incoming calls.

  • Maintain office security system by following safety procedures and controlling access. (Monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)

  • Administer office communications and facilitate key task.

  • Support other teams with various administrative tasks.

  • Maintain files and records with effective filing system.

  • Monitor office supplies inventory and place orders.

Experience, Education, Skills:

  • Minimum 1-2 years in Human Resources

  • Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Preferred)

  • Knowledge of human resources systems, policies, and practices

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with HRIS systems

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, insurance language and standards, or governmental regulations.  Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and policies and procedures.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.

  • Requires math and statistical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.  Requires ability to compute ratios and percentages and to develop graphs and charts.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
