Sales Manager (Finance)
DIVISION: Sales & Marketing
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales and Marketing
CLASSIFICATION: YR Salaried
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Sales Manager plays an important role in Solitude's efforts to reach its annual revenue and visitation goals. This role manages a team who prospects for sales among numerous channels, including, but not limited to, B2B, groups, ski clubs and councils, wholesale, and weddings.
Job Qualifications
Intermediate or advanced ski or snowboard ability required
3+ years' experience in a sales position at a ski resort or other hospitality business
Strong understanding of the ski club and ski council business
Track record of success in lead generation and selling products and services B2B
Track record of success in generating revenue via SMERF groups
Experience in selling weddings preferred
Must possess the following:

Job Duties
Develop and execute sales strategies for group, wholesale, corporate, conference, and wedding sales in order to increase occupancy, visitation, and revenue in lodging, activities, and resort services.
Actively manage sales channels by prospecting, negotiating, contracting, and coordinating groups and guests.
Participate in the Revenue Management committee, including evaluating industry trends and comp sets to ensure pricing and processes are competitive
Analyze resort business data, market research, and industry trends to evaluate and identify appropriate target markets, marketing strategies, sales goals, and opportunities for revenue growth.
Complete an operating budget and capital improvement budgets for your department annually
Review and manage contract process to ensure sales team optimizes all revenue opportunities.
Represent the resort in community and industry organizations and events.
Evaluate and maintain sales and service systems and tools to help team work efficiently while capturing customer data.
Establish a division of channels and territories among the sales team and develop annual goals per employee.
Manage sales team to achieve goals. Provide regular training and performance evaluations.
Review and analyze sales performance against goals
Prepare regular sales reports, including earned and lost revenue, forecast and potential sales.
