Vice President II - Private Equity Services (Finance)

Responsible for managing and maintaining, with the opportunity to lead, for a broad range of banking and lending relationships with venture capital and private equity firm clients.
Must be able to engineer complex and creative credit solutions to fit client needs.
Drives credit underwriting, risk assessment and portfolio monitoring independently in strong collaboration with Credit partners
Performs due diligence analysis, underwrites and negotiates loan transactions independently
Structures and presents debt proposals.
Negotiates loan documentation.
Develops and closes cross selling opportunities within the assigned portfolio.
Interacts with clients and prospects independently.
Develops and maintains a network in market to generate new business for SVB.
Provides training and leadership to junior staff and colleagues in other areas.
Collaborates across multiple areas of the Bank, including Private Bank, Capital, Commercial Bank, Global, and VCRM;
Leads team's interaction with other Product teams
Facilitates and coordinates interaction among teams to deliver key SVB's key differentiators including i) creative credit solutions, ii) best in class client service, iii) extensive market knowledge
Seek process improvements, and help to shape how the Bank is delivered in an effort to make it easier for clients to do business with SVB

The ideal candidate hired for this role will the following experience:
Deep understanding how the VC/PE ecosystem
Advanced experience within Commercial Banking in a credit related field
High degree of independence in managing a portfolio of clients, leading credit transaction from start to finish, providing leadership to junior team members.
Excellent credit analysis and risk assessment skills
Strong knowledge and application of credit policies
Advanced knowledge of bank operations and products
Good knowledge of loan documentation for secured lending transactions
Good negotiation and sales skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability perform excellence in portfolio management while delivering superior client service
Excellent project management skills
Able to multi-task and handle competing priorities in a very fast pace environment
Proven ability to build meaningful relationships internally as well as with clients and prospects
Proactive mentoring and development of junior team members
Be accountable, demonstrate ownership, and seek process improvements to help shape how SVB is delivered in the market
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
5-8 years of commercial lending or related experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, master's degree preferred
