Night Counselor (Finance)
Come join the team at Rising Oaks, a housing program offering supportive services and studio apartments to young adults who are current and former foster youth! The Night Counselor position includes housing.
The program offers on-site mental health services, case management, career development, mentoring, and more in a strengths-based, culturally responsive, youth-friendly environment, so that young adults can take on leadership roles, develop life skills, and meet personal, educational, and career goals. The diverse and multidisciplinary staff team includes a Property Manager, Mental Health Clinicians, Peer Mentor, Employment/Education Specialist and Residential Counselors to help support the youth.
Job Summary:
The live-in Night Counselor is responsible for overnight operations at the Rising Oaks site, including managing any after-hour buildings/grounds problems, ensuring that tenants get support with any urgent after-hours needs, and maintenance of neighbor relations. As the live-in staff, the Night Counselor will also provide support services to tenants, responding when necessary to tenant crises, and directing them to the on-site case manager or other providers for additional services. The Night Counselor is responsible for safety practices, enforcing and monitoring policy and procedures, and including ensuring campus security. The Night Counselor helps to promote a safe, structured, and healing-oriented environment that allows for participants' growth. The Night Counselor builds supportive relationships with participants who have faced multiple challenges in their lives, which may include homelessness, foster care placement, mental illness, trauma, and/or drug and alcohol use. The Night Counselor will provide services within a strengths-based, culturally responsive, family-friendly environment that values respect, accountability, compassion, excellence, diversity, innovation, and integrity. The Night Counselor may also complete other duties as assigned.
