Job Description
Title: Automation Specialist – Drives & Motion Products
Department:Engineering
General Summary:
To be one of the automation specialist within McNaughton-McKay to work with Sales and vendors in the development of marketing activities and support strategies for assigned technologies.
Pre-Sale Responsibilities:
1.A technical resource within McNaughton-McKay responsible for the sales support of assigned technologies.
2.Develop relationships with Sales and the decision-makers within the identified strategic accounts.
3.Monitor the technology trends evaluated and implemented at the identified strategic accounts.
4.Develop a marketing strategy with Sales to promote the sales of assigned technologies at strategic accounts.
5.Continuously document activities with the identified strategic accounts.
6.Utilize relationships and documented activities to leverage value-add at the identified strategic accounts.
7.Establish relationships with vendors of assigned technologies as the technical liaison for sales and support.
8.Participate in the development of contracts and agreements with vendors of assigned technologies
9.Manage appropriate inventory product mix and levels for assigned technologies.
Post-Sale Responsibilities:
1.Manage the availability and the identified strategic account requirements for the assigned technology products.
2.Manage the availability and the ESG requirements for the assigned technology products.
3.Train the inside and technical support personnel on the assigned technology products.
4.Educate the Sales Staff on the assigned technology products.
5.Develop and maintain the information and support infrastructure required for the assigned technology products. (Drive Software, Logix, Motion Sizing Tools, Tech. Support, etc.)
Service Responsibilities:
1.Qualify the level of assistance provided to customers with product and integration issues.
2.Create the required service procedures to support the assigned technology products.
3.Develop the vendor service/support strategies for the assigned technology products.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1.Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
2.3+ years of engineering experience required; 5+ years of professional engineering experience will be considered in lieu of meeting the educational requirement.
3.Product knowledge of assigned technology products.
4.Thorough knowledge of strategic customer applications.
5.Proven analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Overnight travel required for sales activities and annual training schools.
