J. Walter Thompson, Atlanta is seeking an Account Supervisor. The Account Supervisor is a leader for the account, expected to not only manage and supervise the account, but provide thought leadership to the account.
Duties
Along with Project Manager, assumes daily project management of all activities for accounts
Ensures that the services required by the Client are properly performed Comprehensive awareness and understanding of total client branding effort
Responsible for the internal administration of accounts – making certain that the Account Executives and/or Assistants perform effectively in the mechanics of their assignments
Responsible for working in conjunction with the Supervisor team to create solutions, provide ideas and to progress work on the Client's Account
Assists and fully supports the Account Executives, being sensitive as to when active participation is required as opposed to counsel
Maintains a current and intensive knowledge of Client's business in order to direct and contribute to their marketing and advertising plans.
Guides, advises, and assists the Account Executives in developing and presenting new proposals to their accounts and in carrying out the proposals agreed upon by clients
Acts in partnership with the creative teams to elevate work and sell to the Client
Reviews and needs to be in agreement with the creative work
Sees to it that Account Executives invite other key agency people to visit clients if and when dictated by business sense
Creates opportunities for informal meetings with key clients to keep abreast of their thinking, to uncover areas of possible difficulty, and to cultivate closer rapport
Keeps Account Director appropriately involved and informed on all major aspects of accounts and reports to him/her and agency management periodically on the progress of business
Is concerned with the profitability of his/her business to the agency – is cost-conscious
In conjunction with Project Manager, responsible for the budget, financial tracking and health of projects and account
Responsible for the accuracy and clarity of any written document, including conference reports and marketing plans, before submission to the Client
Assists in selecting and training of new account management personnel and/or client personnel as required
Responsible for developing staff
Adheres to purchasing procedures for any third party purchases
Co-ordinates/oversees third party supporting partner relationships
Ensures cross-team integration to support project needs

Clients' objectives are met
Creative work is outstanding and on strategy
Income and profitability levels are met for each account
Work is on target, on time, and within budget
Creative morale on each account is positive
No major misunderstanding or trouble exists between agency and Clients. As problems arise, they are proactively and satisfactorily dealt with in accordance with company policy.
Client and Agency management express confidence in his/her leadership.
Account Executive(s) are clear on their responsibilities and strengths are being utilized to the best possible extent
Morale among his/her account group is positive and harmonious.
