Lab Manager, Pharmacology and Biomarkers (Agriculture)
Primary duties/responsibilities:
Lab Management: Supplies, Equipment, Maintenance, and Safety
Plans and coordinates administrative and operational laboratory tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the general and administrative organization of the lab, the stock room and our common consumable material and reagent inventory.
Responsible for preparation of shipments to external collaborations and CROs, maintaining laboratory equipment and inventories, and arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair, as needed
Manage cold room, freezer, and N2 storage, maximizing the use of space
Arrange and supervise repairs of lab equipment
Request and coordinate lab-associated Facilities and IT work
Research Support
Assist in the day-to-day running of the Pharmacology and Biomarkers research operation using comprehensive knowledge of relevant science, including molecular biological and biochemical techniques, PCR, protein chemistry, cell culture work and biological screening assays.
Collaborate with Pharmacology and Biomarker group members and travel as necessary to other PTC sites within New Jersey to efficiently coordinate needed research studies.
Assists in other laboratory tasks as assigned such as genotyping and protein preparation and review research protocols in an effort to stay abreast of what research projects are occurring in the lab at any given time.
The Lab Manager, Pharmacology and Biomarkers, supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, safety requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 4 years' experience, OR Master's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 0- 2 years of relevant experience.
Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Attention to detail.
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Experience in general laboratory duties and familiarity with general laboratory equipment
