The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Advanced Product Engineer/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Implementing programs to improve quality, reduce cost, and expand offerings in the Filtrete™ residential air filter business product lines
• Leading laboratory efforts to maintain existing products and contribute to new product development efforts
• Verifying and documenting product specifications for new and existing products; conducting product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process
• Interacting closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Two (2) combined years of laboratory and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years combined laboratory and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience in nonwovens, air filter and adjacent products, in a manufacturing or laboratory setting
• Experience in robotics and/or automated assembly technologies
• Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans
• Demonstrated ability to develop & validate test methods and properly document test results
• Demonstrated proficiency in design of experiments and other statistical methods

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: Is authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
