North Naples Church is accepting applications for the position of Custodian. Under the supervision of Director of Facilities, this position meets the
cleaning needs of a large church/school campus, helping promote health and
safety while reducing the spread of infection.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2 PM - 10 PM. Must be available to work some weekends and occasionally 3 PM - 11 PM.
Perform cleaning duties when children or congregants are not
present so as not to interfere with care or services.
Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for assigned
areas of campus including but not limited to common areas, classrooms, break
areas, office areas, bathrooms, gymnasiums, storage areas, and entrances.
Respond to spills and other incidents to clean and sanitize in
accordance with procedures.
Collect, bag, and transfer all garbage, placing tied bags in the
Disinfect and clean trashcans and change bags daily.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and restroom fixtures daily with
approved germicidal solution. Supply restrooms with hand soap, toilet paper,
and other paper products.
Sweep and mop all washable floors daily with approved germicidal
solution. Polish floors as scheduled or necessary. Vacuum carpeting daily.
Dust, wash, and sanitize surfaces as scheduled.
Wash windows and walls using approved germicidal solution as
scheduled or needed.
Assist with setup and tear down of classrooms, meeting rooms, and
event spaces including church services and outdoor events.
Perform routine maintenance activities including but not limited
to changing light bulbs and light painting.
Lock and unlock various rooms and spaces throughout day and at
conclusion of shift. Assure all
perimeter doors are locked and secured before the end of the evening shift each
Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow proper
health and safety procedures at all times.
Report the following to the Director of Facilities: presence of
animals, vermin, or insects; needs for cleaning supplies or equipment, water
leaks, maintenance needs, health and safety hazards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and at least 1 year experience cleaning and
self-disciplined, highly motivated and detail oriented.
Good communication and
customer service skills are very important, as this position will frequently
interact with staff and church and school families.
This position requires
performing physical activities that require movements such as lifting,
balancing, walking, stooping, climbing, and handling of furniture, equipment,
