Entry Level Materials Engineer (Architecture)

Services are delivered throughout the asset life cycle, from concept to construction to long-term operations, maintenance and rehabilitation.
Provide entry level materials engineering support for a Quality Assurance Program that consists of a daily material inspection placement process for HMA, PCC, and Aggregate/Soil materials, material inspection documentation and project closeout process, material inspection database, and material specification review and/or development. This candidate will be responsible for assisting the Materials Coordinating staff and Program Manager and the Local Agency QA Management Team with various tasks for HMA, PCC, Aggregate, Soil, Steel and Miscellaneous Materials in accordance with established QA program requirements. Duties may include periodic on-site field inspection, material documentation review, specification review, report writing, cost estimates and other related tasks.
The candidate must be highly motivated and is expected to have good communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as possess good organizational skills and a willingness to take on new challenges. The candidate should have the ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. The candidate would be expected to work occasional overtime to complete special tasks and meet program objectives.
