Portfolio Director (Finance)
The Global Program Portfolio Senior Director is responsible for leading and driving the strategic alignment, resource allocation, and consistent execution of the portfolio of programs within the segment. This role ensures that all projects are in service of the segment strategy and contribute to the overall business growth, operational efficiency, positive associate change impact, and return on investment while working effectively across regions and markets.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the portfolio of programs within the Mars Snacking segment, ensuring alignment with segment strategy and consistency across regions and markets.
• Collaborate with regional and market teams to drive resource allocation and ensure efficient project execution in line with business objectives.
• Offer strategic direction to project management personnel for compliance with contractual commitments, customer needs, and profitability optimization.
• Monitor and drive on-time performance metrics across the segment.
• Establish and monitor critical success factors for segment, focusing on business value, speed of return on investment (ROI), and de-risking at segment level.
• Provide MWLT with accurate and up-to-date portfolio status reports for the segment.
• Collaborate with regional, market and SRO team to ensure seamless segment view on key initiatives.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including program leads, market/regional leads and leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project commitments and drive escalation to resolution across segment.
• Provide accurate forecasts for project portfolio financial performance, backlog resource demand, and overall business impact across the segment, driving leadership to take decisions on prioritization.
• Drive efficiencies in scale and impact to associates by linking together market and region-level work, ensuring a cohesive segment view.
• Influence without authority, effectively managing trade-offs, and driving alignment among stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related field; MBA or Advanced Degree preferred.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in leading large, complex projects in business or operations.
• Proven track record in executive leadership and strategic decision-making.
• Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge required; PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or equivalent desired.
• Strong project management skills and a track record of success in cost, risk, and schedule control.
• Ability to work independently, follow through on commitments, and demonstrate accountability for results.
• Strategic, influential, and decisive mindset; able to process and act on complex information.
• Experience in managing projects across multiple regions and markets.
