Purpose: Operates machines, including but not limited to CNC Machining Centers, Tube Benders, Presses, Drill Centers or other similar machines.
Essential Functions: Required but not limited to: 1. Performs basic equipment maintenance and daily safety checks as prescribed. 2. Manually, with hoist or crane, or with forklift: loads, unloads, and adjusts placement in the machine of material and work pieces to be processed. 3. Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments or fixtures to machines using hand tools and precision measuring devices. 4. Following prescribed frequency, measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. 5. Assures pieces and material received for processing and removed after processing are tagged with correct count and identification number, without multiple tags. 6. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion. 7. Meets or exceeds production rates and quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Measuring and Mathematical Skills a. Accurately adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides. b. Verifies parts using work instructions. c. Successfully completes training or demonstrates proficiency in blueprint reading. d. Produces accurate results when using precision measuring instruments. 2. Language Skills (Speaking and Writing) a. Effectively communicates with coworkers and supervisors. b. Handwriting is clear and legible. 3. Basic Reasoning Skills a. Applies common sense when following written and oral instructions. b. Reads, interprets, and takes action on written instruction. 4. Physical Requirements and Manual Dexterity a. Constant standing throughout shift, with occasional walking b. Frequent bending, lifting, and/or carrying throughout shift c. May lift up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis d. Effective use of appropriate basic hand tools e. Visual acuity to operate manufacturing equipment where the components of the equipment and parts can potentially be further than arm's length away. f. Close visual acuity to read standard print, visually inspect parts for defects and accurately utilize measuring devices.
