National Account Manager-Costco (Project Management)

Drive sales in a direct selling capacity through fact based selling and forming productive customer relationships for the Club Channel.  In addition to selling, role requires product development interface with marketing, trade planning & delivering profitability targets. This role will be responsible for supporting Costco's 8 Regions, Costco Business Centers, Costco .com, and Costco Corporate buying teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing multi-level productive relationships and selling products directly to Costco.
  • Maintain corporate mandated profit contribution levels through effective management of assigned spending budgets.
  • Effectively utilize syndicated data to identify opportunities and provide management with post analysis results.
  • Interface with Marketing and Sales Management to identify opportunities and develop regional initiatives.
  • Effectively incorporate insights obtained from the broker team to identify and realize opportunities
  • Must manage trade spending budget and deliver financial sales responsibility driven by senior leadership team. 
  • Evaluate current and competitive product's pricing, promotions and sales strategies for potential business opportunities.
  • Lead contributor to product innovation plans for Club.
  • Collaborate with internal sales analyst and customer buying teams to effectively forecast sales
  • Develop recommendations for promotional activities to effectively optimize sales growth within available spending guidelines, using available POS, syndicated and consumer insights data

Experience, Skills, Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience selling to Club customers, and 3-5 years team management a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of how to successfully navigate the Club Channel is a must
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to understand trends and generate recommendations                                                                              
  • Must have a good understanding of syndicated data information sources ie., IRI and AC Nielsen
  • Financial acumen is a must, will be developing plans that deliver on profitability expectations and within budget
  • Ability to effectively negotiate on behalf of B&G Foods, Inc. required
  • Ability to develop, implement, and measure sales generating programs
  • Thorough understanding of B&G's portfolio of brands
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required
