Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our geotechnical engineering operations as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer working from our office in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Our project assignments allow engineers to work and travel within the spectacular Rocky Mountain region and across the United States on diverse client projects. Typical geotechnical projects touch the entire spectrum of geotechnical engineering, including; soil and rock slope stability analyses, shallow and deep foundation design, bridge and highway corridor design, design of rigid and flexible pavement, field instrumentation and monitoring, deep foundation load testing, and construction oversight and materials inspection. In addition, a strong track record of successfully completed design projects in the civil, environmental, hydrology or hydraulics fields is a plus. Successful candidate should have strong technical skills plus ability to generate new work from regional or national markets. Experience in the development and successful implementation of capture plans for targeted clients or market segments is required.
Responsibilities: Senior geotechnical engineer to manage project and staff level geotechnical engineers in the delivery of field drilling services and the performance of geotechnical field reconnaissance. Responsibilities also include direct assistance in growth of the geotechnical operations group regionally and business development of key client accounts. Prepare capture plans, proposals and cost estimates to develop new business opportunities from regional or national markets. Development and implementation of operational and business development annual plans. Perform geotechnical analysis and prepare final engineering reports, perform geotechnical quality control inspection and documentation on construction projects, professionally interact with clients in meetings, phone calls, and emails, strictly adhere to company health and safety standards and expectations. Adhere to risk mitigation protocols
Qualifications: Fifteen to twenty years of experience in geotechnical engineering with operations management capabilities. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other Microsoft software. Proficient with gINT, and Modeling software desired. Experienced in preparation of engineering plans and specifications packages for commercial projects. Able to perform geotechnical design analysis, calculations, and proficient with current geotechnical design software. Familiarity with geotechnical lab testing and construction materials testing expected. Excellent writing and speaking skills, comfortable with client communications. PE license in Colorado. OHSA 40 hr. hazardous waste site operations certification preferred.
Degree Requirements: Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical/Materials emphasis, or related Geological Engineering degree.
