Operates and maintains company vehicles, transports, stock, mail, merchandise and personnel between BCBSM facilities and other customer locations.
Transports stock, mail, and other material by company vehicles.
Moves, loads, and unloads heavy material.
Assists in loading and unloading vehicles at loading docks.
Required to operate company vehicle with manual transmission.
Required to operate materials handling equipment (i.e., electric pallet mover, electric lift truck, manual lift truck, banding machines, etc.).
Maintains a daily log of trips.
Maintain and complete vehicle maintenance checklist.
Palletizes material to be transported.
Assists in putting away stock.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
Six (6) months departmental experience.
Must possess a valid and unrestricted Michigan Chauffers Drivers License.
One (1) year minimum driving experience required.
Ability to operate a calculator, letter opening machines and metering equipment, all UPS Applications Basic knowledge of PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and clients.
Must have knowledge of corporate mail code system, U.S. Postal Regulations, claim forms and specialized department forms.
Must have knowledge of, corporate organizational structure, ordering stock, department policies and procedures.
Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
