7a-3p Tues - Sat FT OR 7a-3p Sun and Mon PT
Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the age of the patient.
Assures admission and discharge checklists are completed as assigned
Assures each new patient is oriented to the unit rules, patient bill of rights and responsibilities.
Performs observational rounds and suicide and seclusion checks per established policy, and tours unit with off-going shift to account for all patients.
Continuously observes significant behaviors, actions and activities of the patients. Documents observations in the patient's charts, reflecting implementation of the treatment plan. Reports any unusual occurrences.
Facilitates goal groups, skill streaming groups, team building and various life skills and independent living skills groups.
Possesses the skills of verbal de-escalation and able to avoid power struggles with patients. Sets limits for patients.
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Six months experience working in a psychiatric/behavioral health treatment facility, preferably with adolescents.
Current CPR, First Aid, and aggression management certifications.
