Instructional Designer (Education)

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Global Product Information team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables for Dematic standard solutions and subsystems.

As an Instructional Designer for standard solutions and subsystems, you will design world-class online or in-person training deliverables, build best-in-class certification programs, and establish learning pathways that promote professional development and technical expertise for internal and external audiences across the globe. You will work with subject matter experts to identify your target audiences training needs and apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods that facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience's training needs
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments


 

 


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as instructional design, educational technology
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with technical products (hardware or software)
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Good lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Proficient with a variety of eLearning development tools
  • Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
  • Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
