Yakima office of our client seeks family law associate attorney with preferably 2 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with matters involving paternity, guardianship, juvenile delinquency, emancipation, custody, child support, adoption, dissolution, and divorce. Will be conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents. Drafting and reviewing written discovery including e-discovery. Drafting, responding to, and arguing motions. Preparing for, taking, and defending depositions. Preparing for and appearing in Court and mediations. Communicating with clients on a very regular basis. Efficiently providing top-notch legal products and superior service to clients. Being a trusted advisor to clients through strategic thinking, problem solving, and providing sound legal advice. Marketing both own and firms services to prospective clients. Generating a portion of own billable work. Maintaining a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues; and, all other duties as assigned. Must be an active member of the State Bar of DC. Extensive knowledge of Montana state laws regarding family law; and, litigation experience are preferred.Additional Skills: The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school. Strong academic credentials with a preference for applicants that graduated in the top third of their law school class are needed. Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment that places a high premium on accuracy, excellence, and execution; ability to work independently when necessary; ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while meeting critical deadlines; strong analytical and organizational skills; Common sense, great judgment, and a positive and willing attitude are needed. Must be a team player who enjoys working with and supporting the other attorneys and employees in the firm. Must have a strong work ethic with and a thorough understanding of what is required to be successful in a client-service industry; and a desire to be part of a growing legal practice that takes pride in making the legal system uncomplicated, approachable, and accessible to everyone.
