Location Summary

Dunnewod Winery has been producing wines in Mendocino County since 1944. It was founded by the Mendocino Winegrowers Co-op. They utilized the larger shared equipment to produce Mendocino wines as well as shipping grape must to the Midwest. Today Dunnewood processes several vineyards in Sonoma and Mendocino, each with a unique terroir that provides distinguished wines depicting those regions.  As we have from the beginning, our wines reflect Mendocino County - a small, scenic and stunningly diverse region along the Pacific Coast.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, performs routine repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs and modifies existing and new equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, equipment warranties and maintenance records.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance.
  • Performs general mechanical work connected with various facilities expansion projects such as welding, electrical, carpentry, refrigeration and HVAC.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains standard facility systems.
  • Installs minor modifications and performs advanced mechanical, electrical and carpentry work.
  • Designs and builds equipment unique to the industry based on instructions from supervisor.
  • May install minor modifications and perform limited carpentry and painting.
  • Utilizes variety of hand and portable power tools.
  • Assists in the movement of materials and equipment.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years general maintenance experience.
  • Trade school highly desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in skilled trades.
  • Knowledgeable regarding safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 480 V work or Arc Flash certification.
  • Previous work in a beverage/food production facility.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Working conditions in certain areas of the winery are cold, wet, slippery and noisy.  Flexible work shifts, including swing and night shifts, and overtime may be required, particularly during harvest.  May require handling hazardous materials on an occasional basis.  Requires the ability to lift/carry 50 lbs on a regular basis and frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and ladders, sitting, bending, standing for long periods and carrying/moving equipment.  Work can be impacted by constant interruptions and urgent changes in job priorities. The maintenance department presents a work environment that can vary from a shop setting to climbing on top of outdoor equipment.  Work can be impacted by constant interruptions and urgent changes in job priorities.
