Assistant Buyer (Healthcare)
The Assistant Buyer will support the creation and management of the merchandise assortment for our HOKA, Teva, and Sanuk eCommerce websites, with a goal of identifying opportunities for revenue growth, profitability improvements, and inventory optimization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Buying and Merchandising, Pre-Season:
• Support development of assortment and financial targets by working with the Merchandise Manager, Buyer, and Planner for the upcoming season taking into account sales history and trend for all Deckers Brands eCommerce sites.
• Assist in creation of seasonal sales and inventory plans down to the style-color level to deliver revenue, gross margin and inventory sell-through plan, leveraging Oracle Retail buyplanning tools.
• Assist in creating the seasonal Marketing (Go-to-Market) Calendar and Monthly eCommerce Activation Calendar.
• Work in conjunction with eComm Marketing, eComm Site Operations and Production teams ensuring key item buys and product stories are being communicated clearly to consumers.
Buying and Merchandising, In-Season:
• Provide key business reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, seasonal, and annual basis.
• Meet weekly with cross functional teams to review business results.
• Provide insight on results versus pre-season strategies. Support creation of at once execution plans based on sales analysis.
• Review inventory by style-color/month based on plan and last forecast.
• Make recommendations for future buys and/or cancellations of on-order in season.
• Make recommendations for the clearance of slow sellers to maintain turn targets.
• Assist in analysis of monthly/quarterly hindsight data; make recommendations to assortment based on results.
• Ensures that reports are timely and accurate.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job:
• Understand financial metrics to analyze businesses and can make recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history & market trends.
• Assist in merchandise selection process, placement of orders and help ensure proper quantity is purchased by style/color/size for division.
• Support partnership with the Planning teams to analyze the weekly business. Assist in creation of recommendations on future buys to grow business and optimize inventory.
• Analyze last year information as well as current market to support strategy development. Identify how current trend will impact future results and support adjustments regularly.
• Develop relationships and collaboratively work with eComm, Planning, and Marketing teams on the day-to-day details of running the business.
• Support in competitive shopping at competing stores and websites to monitor fashion trends, pricing strategies and presentation techniques. Report industry information to team.
• Participate in ad hoc reporting when required.
• Ensure companies core values are exhibited and incorporated into the daily routines.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree
• One to three year's work experience in retail merchandising
