Manager - The Bavarian (Finance)
Communication: Be a partner with the Chef de Cuisine and leader of service staff to ensure there is clarity through shift execution of quality service, inviting ambience, and memorable connection with our guests. Maintain transparency in decisions and guidance to staff by holding daily pre-shifts, one on one service training updates, consistent on floor coaching, and an open-door policy. Ensure communication and efforts between culinary and front of house are seamless and unified. Daily communication of operational status, equipment needs, staffing levels, and other important information from shift leader to shift leader is critical.
Guest Experience: Floor presence, table visitation, and guest interaction is top priority. Every guest experience is an opportunity to curate the unique experience of The Bavarian and tell stories about the food, flavors, architecture, history and legend of Taos Ski Valley. Leading our staff to create meaningful connection and lasting memories is the objective. Leading the team to feel empowered to solve all guest opportunities is just as important as making a personal connection with each guest interaction.
Leadership: There is great responsibility of providing inspiring leadership each and every day. Leading by example in terms of timeliness, attitude, grooming standards, upholding service standards and energy will constantly push the team in the right direction. Meeting deadlines, being active in Taos Ski Valley leadership groups and exceeding expectations when projects are assigned is a must. "B" the change and positivity you want to instill in our staff.
Organization and Management: Hiring and training a positive, educated and engaged service team according to our personnel standards is a priority of this role. Creating and executing training plans based on quality operating procedures / steps of service to create a stable operations where service and connection can remain a priority is paramount. Daily and monthly food & beverage inventory control measures should be followed along with the monitoring of china, glass, silver & equipment to ensure outlets are setup for success. Labor costs must be monitored daily through scheduling, avoidance of overtime, monitoring punches, and cutting staff hours to push profitability. Ensuring all staff and areas are in compliance with health department practices and safety should be a priority on a daily basis.
Business Management: Responsible for daily POS computer operations, daily cash-out and deposits, FOH staff payroll / tip processing, alcoholic beverage security / inventory management, cost of goods management, wage management, direct expense management, operating supply ordering, and other general business management.
Facility Management: Responsible for monitoring heat and utility function, beer system operation, bar equipment operation, daily security of the both buildings / deck / exterior grounds, trash / recycling liaison with resort facilities department, snow management, and high alpine interior / exterior safety.
