Meter Relay Technician (Telecommunications)

Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a strong, team-oriented Meter Relay Technician to install, test and commission, troubleshoot and maintain transmission, distribution, generation and substation protective relaying systems and auxiliary
equipment controls including voltage, regulators, governors, synchronizers, and revenue meters.
As a member of the Relay department at EWEB the successful candidate would be instrumental in maintaining reliable protection systems and have opportunities to influence system design in EWEB's generation and transmission facilities.
EWEB is Oregon's largest customer-owned utility. We provide water and electricity to the Eugene community, as well as parts of east Springfield and the McKenzie River valley area. Requirements As A Qualification
Minimum Experience: Must have completed a three-year, approved training program in an Electrical Relay discipline or equivalent Electric Utility experience.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or have equivalent combination of training and experience.

Professional license or registration: None

Post-offer physical / functional test required: Yes
Apprenticeship or other education/training required as a condition of employment, progression or advancement: Must obtain a First Aid/CPR Card. Must complete EWEB-approved three-year meter relay training program to attain journey status.
