Organic Ingredient Specialist - R&D Non Protein (R&D)



The Organic Ingredient Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Organic R&D Team.  The incumbent must maintain a high level of proficiency in the organization of daily operational functions and computer systems to create and maintain effective internal and external communication and support.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the National Organic Program (NOP) regulations relevant to the business and distributes to appropriate personnel. 
  • Interface between R&D team and Supplier in sourcing raw materials and documentation.
  • Coordinates documentation for new raw materials, new regulatory documents required for current raw materials with suppliers and Purchasing associates to support Organics initiatives.
  • Reconciles incoming information upon receipt and confirm compliance with NOP and Regulatory requirements.
  • Store, manage electronic filing system and track Organic documentation.
  • Manage and maintain R&D Organics trackers, compliance of the Organic raw material portfolio and Teams site.
  • Advises team on estimated timing, status updates and delivery delays for documentation.
  • Work with internal and external customers in the resolution of questions, issues, or actions relating to documents.
  • Assist project team members with questions or issues related to documents.
  • Assemble information needed to support project activities.
  • Create and/or update desktop work instructions and procedures.
  • Work with project team members to ensure records are complete and accurate and compliant.
  • Proactively follow assignments through to completion, attentive to detail and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to provide guidance to others on the team.
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility with the ability to adjust to changing priorities quickly, have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • A 4-year technical college degree in a specialized field such as science or technology.
  • 2+ years' experience in the Food or Beverage industry.
  • Organic experience greatly preferred.
  • Must have an attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks.
  • Discretion with confidential information.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
