Accountable for management and implementation of safety programs for Hilcorp Alaska North Slope including supervisory duties for field based Safety personnel on the North Slope. Essential Job Responsibilities:

Provide visible safety leadership and guidance to asset teams and safety team members.
Regularly interact with Asset Teams to understand impacts to operations, ensure programs and processes are aligned with safety management system objectives and Asset Team goals.
Review internal and contractor incident investigations; provide guidance to ensure quality and consistency resulting in SMART recommendations and follow-through by field staff.
Define and communicate key safety performance metrics which influence safety performance and correlate to business performance goals, industry performance, and company targets.
Support management in relationships, inquiries, interpretations, and responses to external inquiries.
Provide oversight and supervision of all field based Safety personnel assigned to the North Slope; set and communicate expectations, define goals, and hold staff accountable for accomplishing goals.
Manage safety staff schedule: vacation approval and coverage, major project safety coverage, medical and emergency absences, training requests, etc.
Conduct employee performance evaluations and regularly hold 1:1 sessions to, assist employees with their performance and development.
Interact with field level external stakeholders regarding compliance with federal and state safety regulations and adherence to best practices; clearly identify, communicate, and work with Asset Teams to resolve issues.
Ensure that all applicable safety documentation is managed according to regulatory requirements and company expectations.
Possess in-depth knowledge of Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) requirements, applicable regulations, and field level safety processes and tools.
Accountable for management of safety aspects of contracts with support service contract companies.
Provide feedback to contract companies on performance expectations and manage the annual Contractor Safety Performance review process
Liaison with contractors on contractor incident classifications and investigations.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Work across asset team boundaries to communicate/understand impacts to adjacent programs and processes and identify opportunities for common solutions or tools to address safety and health concerns.
Ensure effective communication of incident investigation learnings and work with asset managers to develop action plans to address hazards and deficiencies.
Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
Other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications:
Ten (10) years minimum experience in safety or operations in the oil & gas industry.
Experience supporting North Slope operations preferred.
Working knowledge of OSHA and other state and federal safety regulations.
Self-motivated, hard-working team player who pays attention to details and can interpret operational needs in order to develop integrated, creative solutions.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner both at the field and leadership level.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and solutions-oriented approach with coworkers, supervisors, other departments, external agency officials, and the public.
Successful candidate will demonstrate that they can take ownership of the job responsibilities and hold themselves accountable for their successful completion.
Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
Ability to be present in the field 50% or more including at remote field facilities as well as periodic work in arctic and industrial facility environments as necessary to manage field based personnel, validate field conditions and to establish & maintain good working rapport with operations personnel.
Proficiency in the use and application Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Management experience strongly preferred.

Required: Combination of education and/or job related experience roughly equivalent to Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
