Hybrid (on-site 3 days a week)

The Media Manager role is a centralized role on the Pet Nutrition US Media team and will be responsible for building superior media capabilities and activations for multiple brands in the Mars Petcare portfolio. As the Media Manager you will lead full-funnel media strategy and national media execution across a variety of programmatic (including Google, Yahoo, Amazon Advertising, WMC, etc.), search (Google, Bing, Retail Media Search), social (including Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, etc.), and direct investment media partners (TV, CTV, Print, Audio, etc.), all with a focus on driving awareness, consideration, and conversion.

This role will be responsible for defining and rolling out scalable solutions, best practices, and frequent learnings to advance Mars Pet Nutrition US media efforts, while driving business outcomes that support our brand's growth goals & objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or in a relevant field required
  • 3+ years' experience in biddable media (strategy, partners, tactics, etc.)
  • Proficiency in paid media planning and buying with an emphasis in biddable channels: programmatic, search, social media, and retail media networks
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with both short- and long-term components
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships and to collaborate effectively cross-functionally
  • Experience partnering directly with brand marketers, agencies, and vendor partners to advance media initiatives
  • Demonstrable analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to turn insights into action

Nice to have

  • Expereince with planning, executing and optimizing campaigns across retail media networks (e.g., Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Instacart Ads), leveraging retailer first-party data, measuring ROAS and sales lift, and integrating RMN strategy into the broader marketing mix.
  • Use of shoppable media tools (e.g., MikMak) to create interactive content, connect media to retailer product pages, and measure engagement and sales impact.
  • Previous experience with applying AI-driven media tools and technology (e.g., Google Performance Max, Amazon Marketing Cloud, creative-generation platforms) to improve targeting, inform optimizations, generate insights, and enhance campaign performance.

What would be your key responsibilities?
  • Lead the development of holistic media strategy and national execution across media (in collaboration with brand & integrated agency teams) including recommending tactics uniquely tailored to individual brands, based on business goals and communication objectives outlined in annual One-Demand Briefs.
  • Provide regular media consultation to the brand teams, retailer activation managers, sales strategy leadership and other cross-functional internal and external partners on all matters related to media, including partnering on creative briefing & development, media plans & flighting, campaign performance & optimizations, audience strategy, and consumer journey.
  • Support retailer activation managers & sales strategy leadership in managing customer expectations & relationships, inclusive of joining customer calls and meetings, as necessary.
  • Seek to increase the efficiency & effectiveness of media via ongoing analysis, optimization of programs, streamlining processes, benchmarking, as well as developing and implementing structured media campaigns & pilots.
  • Collaborate with MI&E (Media Insights & Effectiveness), agency partners, media vendors and measurement partners to identify, develop, and implement test & learns for media. Package and present the results, inclusive of learning agenda progress recaps, in-campaign reporting and frequent share outs, with brand teams, global partners and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify and implement data-driven insights utilizing a suite of media reporting tools to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency, while eliminating overlap, redundancies, and inefficient investment.
  • Lead development and implementation of educational sessions & playbooks to build marketing department capabilities, while ensuring best practices & proven solutions are scaled to deliver best-in-class performance.
  • Evaluate innovation opportunities and craft tests to gather learnings against emerging media capabilities, while advancing the Pet Nutrition US media innovation agenda through ownership of select portfolio-wide media initiatives with strategic media partners (ex: AI in Media, DCO, Influencer & Boosting, Cookieless Future, etc.).
