Enterprise Architecture (EA) consolidates accountability for technology choices and solution design across the Technology Group (TG) and the full portfolio, ensuring consistent leadership in the solution design process. EA:
The outcome is that FRBNY's overall architecture blueprint and roadmap are developed and clearly communicated to Business, Technology Leaders and COO, resulting in uniform, practical, and efficient product development in FRBNY as a result of EA policies and guidelines.
Your role as Data Architect:
Contribute to design and maintenance of common data models within assigned domains as part of an overall common data model (including central IT-specification of business objects for technical integration)
Support coordination of data distribution and consolidation across different sources (IT applications and enterprise data stores)
Contribute to design of enterprise-wide data solutions ensuring compliance of data integration between applications
Perform engineering and customization of machine learning, NLP and AI models to match business needs, with ability go beyond the usual configuration of ML models and come up with blended models to meet custom business requirements
Contribute to design and definition of data engineering best practices/patterns to be implemented as a repeatable process for data ingestion, cleansing, wrangling, and features generation needed for data science
Ensure project level solutions adhere to strategic direction in terms of the technologies, standards, processes and current/target state architectures for data across the enterprise.
Ensure project level solutions align with the strategy and architecture for managing enterprise data.
Ensure project level data governance and data quality best practices align with Enterprise standards.
Work with project level business and IT stakeholders to ensure data solutions address business and IT objectives.
Lead design, development, implementation and maintenance efforts of all levels of complexity related to data systems and solutions.
Develop project level conceptual, logical and physical data models, as well as data integration pipelines to support data analysis and business intelligence solutions.
Track, evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for relevant data management, data science, storage and analytic technologies.
Participate in working groups comprised of Federal Reserve System Data architects and Information Management workgroups, and continuous learning through attending data architecture-related conferences, seminars, and events
Design and implement modern data integration technologies and solutions to support microservices-based application architectures
Partner with other Application, Data and Infrastructure Architects to deliver best in class solutions
You will be an individual contributor residing in EA, and reporting to the Department Head of Data Architecture. You will be an experienced and independent Data Architect professional with demonstrated expertise, business involvement, and ability to work in a matrix operating model and federated environment.
What we are looking for:
5+ years of Data architecture experience in data modeling (Conceptual, Logical & Physical), data integration and/or applications development in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment
Ability to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs.
Hands on Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Graph, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata) and ETL/Business Intelligence tools, including cloud-based offerings (AWS, Azure)
Experience developing reference architecture, principles and standards
Have 1 or more data or data science related certifications with emphasis on cloud services
In-depth knowledge of current and latest data technology, DAMA standards and frameworks, enterprise architecture modeling tools (Mega HOPEX preferred), information management trends and industry developments with experience managing critical data infrastructure and the changing technology needs of a modern knowledge workforce.
Conduct hands-on and present results of proof of concepts to multiple partners within and outside of EA. Knowledge of AWS Cloud Data related services, Java, Python or other relevant programming skills is desirable.
Demonstrable experience with data governance platforms for data management and stewardship
Experience defining future state strategy and architecture principles in support of advanced analytic and knowledge graph solutions at enterprise scale
Deep familiarity and thought leadership with regards to Data Governance principles such as stewardship, business glossary, data catalogs, data privacy, taxonomy, ontology
Enthusiastic with a Positive Attitude
Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes.
Experience managing and driving diverse project portfolio, working with customers and colleagues.
