Maintenance Superintendent - Facilities Maintenance & Crane Repair - (Job Number: 21000086) (Finance)

The objective of the Maintenance Superintendent is to lead a broad range of services that support the plant wide maintenance and production organizations. The Maintenance Superintendent will develop and lead the Facilities, Crane Repair, Mechanical Utilities, and Engineering that supports the Central Maintenance Organization.
The Maintenance Superintendent is accountable for results within Facilities, Crane Repair, and Mechanical Utilities in the areas of Environment, Health and Safety, Productivity, Asset Management, People Development, Cost Control, Quality, and Team Maturity using ABS and REX systems such as TPM, Kaizen, daily Management, 5S etc.
The Maintenance Superintendent will engage the resources at his/her disposal to meet the department objectives set by the Maintenance and Engineering Manager in support of the business objectives. These objectives will be achieved without sacrificing a spirit of cooperation with other areas.
The Maintenance Superintendent will supervise an area of approximately 15 salaried resources including technicians, planners, Coaches/Group Leaders, Unit supervisors, and Engineers. The Maintenance Superintendent will supervise an area with ~100 hourly resources including mechanics, electricians, carpenters/painters, and facilities maintenance operators.
The Maintenance Superintendent will report to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager of DPW & Satellites.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing industry experience
- Minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field
- Strong background in using maintenance reliability tools and techniques
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work accurately and to work with cross-functional teams effectively
- Ability to lead and drive cultural change in a positive manner, influencing others on new concepts
- Experience with (and understanding of) lean manufacturing (ABS at Arconic)
- Strong oral and written communication skills in a variety of settings (shop floor, peers, plant leadership, etc)
- Understand the complexity of (and succeed in) a matrix organization
