JOB SUMMARY As the Commodity Marketing Associate for Shapiro Metals, you will work alongside the Chief Marketing Officer. The main focus for this role will be selling nonferrous metals and working to develop & expand the consumer base, maintain & enhance the current programs. You will also have the opportunity to partner with the Sales Department to develop commercial agreements with suppliers and work to acquire profitable new business at the desired growth rate. You will also work within the Marketing Department to develop a Customer Service Program. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Business and Consumer Development Develop plans for achieving company growth targetsWork with sales management to ensure that new growth is profitableDevelop new consumers for our productWork with sales and operations to maximize the profitability of all product linesDevelop Customer Service Program for consumers Marketing and Selling of Products Work with operations, sales and management to project sales as well as create new marketing strategiesCommunicate with operations to maintain targeted inventory levelsWork with the sales department to develop commercial agreements with suppliersLearn and understand terminal marketsSell and market all non-ferrous metalReduce and keep nonferrous inventory within managements goals Innovation Innovate and develop new productsUse voice of customer and other information to a) determine other needs of consumers b) develop programs and products based off of those needsCollaborate with Chief Marketing Officer and other functions to develop new product lines EDUCATION Associates degree is required; Bachelors Degree is preferred EXPERIENCE 2+ years of experience in metal or commodity trading2+ years of experience in Sales or MarketingUnderstanding of terminal markets (e.g., LME and Comex) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong analytical and technical aptitudeIn-depth knowledge of costs associated with sales and operationsAbility to work through challenges and handle multiple prioritiesAbility to build relationships Some travel will be required
