Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Project Management)
Attend and participate in new hire training.
Assist clients with Education and skill-building
Self-advocacy skills including connecting to professional services when appropriate
Visit community resources to assist them in becoming familiar with potential opportunities
Teach and model the skills needed to successfully utilize community resources
Building relationships and encouraging community-based activities
Maintains legible and organized patient electronic health records in accordance with policy and requirements of the State of Minnesota. Concurrent documentation is mandatory.
Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Attends recovery and self help groups with clients.
Provides assistance in obtaining housing.
Completes all continuing education requirements outlined by DHS
Qualifications:
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
Have a Minimum of one year in recovery from substance use disorder
Holds a current credential as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist from a certification body approved by the commissioner that demonstrates skills and training in the domains of ethics and boundaries, advocacy, mentoring, education, recovery and wellness support
Receive ongoing supervision in areas specific to the domains for the recovery peers role by and alcohol and drug counselor or an individual with a certification approved by the commissioner
