Senior Database Administrator (Information Technology)

JOB DUTIES: Perform database and SQL performance analysis and make tuning changes. Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions from various teams at Ascend. Provide technical solution design and documentation at the product level. Support implementation of software with database development. Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications. Provide database planning. Create, manage and maintain internal development, testing (QA) and production databases. Collaborate with engineers, testers and staff. Participate in Load and Performance Tests and Analyze bottlenecks and performance issues. Rapidly diagnose and fix problems in production, which involves reverse engineering and root cause analysis utilizing existing tools and resources. Create new solutions patterns within the SQL database and stored procedure code. Install, Configure and Maintain SQL Servers including monitoring the health of SQL instance and performance.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related experience.
