Introduction to Aftenro Board and Care Aftenro Home is a 54-bed licensed Board and Care facility that expresses the culture in a friendly and family-like environment. Located in a beautiful neighborhood in Duluth, MN, Aftenro Home covers a 7 acre campus across from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. There are 85 staff with the majority of the staff in the nursing department. Aftenro is a non-profit facility that is overseen by the Administrator who is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Aftenro Home and its operation as a Board and Care facility in accordance with the responsibilities set forth in the Minnesota Department of Health regulations for Board and Care. The Aftenro Home Administrator reports to a dedicated Board of Directors, particularly in the areas of financial status, performance vs. budget, capital expenditures, funding, policies and procedures, resident census, staff and physical plant. Position Summary 1. Adheres to and supports the mission and the values established for resident care at Aftenro Home 2. Meets goals and expected outcomes established in cooperation with the Board of Directors, the staff, and the Administrator's own shared vision 3. Complies with Federal and State regulations and policies governing licensure and nursing home operation, ensuring safety for Aftenro Home residents and staff 4. Oversees staff recruitment with the aim of retaining a high-quality work force dedicated to the wellbeing of the residents, the orientation of new staff and the responsibilities of all staff, fostering an atmosphere of team spirit aimed at maintaining quality care and high staff morale 6. Maintains financial and operational stability, including maximizing revenues, minimizing expenses, and establishing and maintaining accounting best practices. Focuses on optimizing Aftenro's financial operation through, for example, Minnesota's Value-Based Reimbursement System 7. Conducts performance reviews on employees to determine both a strong clinical as well as fiscal operation 8. Develops a budget in consultation with leadership staff and the Board of Directors and strives to manage operations within the budget to effect high quality care of the residents 9. Maintains good working relationships with the Aftenro Home Board of Directors 10. Develops a sound relationship with the leadership team leading to financial stability and accountability 11. Develops, follows, and reviews policies and procedures and assures compliance with federal and state rules and regulations 12. Leads Aftenro Home in complying with emergency services and situations, such as pandemic-crisis control 13. Maintains Aftenro Home records according to the state of Minnesota's record-keeping policies and procedures 14. Assures the coordination of psychological, social, physical and health service of all residents. Assures knowledge and compliance of all staff regarding licensure rules and regulations, agency policies and procedures, and ongoing updates 15. Upgrades equipment and technology in the facility such that staff can provide quality care to the residents 16. Reviews monthly financial statements within the facility budget and work with Board of Directors for continuing fiscal strength and long-term stability 17. Oversees the annual budget process for all departments Job Classification - Administrator Job Description - Full Time Education, Experience and Credentials · Must be licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Minnesota, or the ability to procure within a specified period and must maintain licensure
· Must hold a four-year bachelor's degree at a minimum
· Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a similar position and in a similar care environment, four years preferred
· Must have experience in managing organizations with relevant financial challenges Position Requirements · Current Minnesota Licensed Nursing Home Administrators license
· Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively manage institutions financial processes
· Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning long-term care
· Experience in performance management and effective leadership
· Ability to lead staff and interact positively with residents, families, the Board and the community
· Able to review and analyze balance sheets, income statements and cash-flow statement
· Experience in developing an annual budget (by month) and managing the organizations performance to the Board-approved budget
· Experience working with vendor service, supply contracts and bank loan documents
