Quality Assurance Manager-Quality Manager (Finance)
Develops and implements quality management initiatives across the Ferrotec global operating groups.
Develops and implements uniform quality assurance practices and documentation across the Ferrotec global operating groups.
Understands and defines requirements and specifications for key accounts and communicates these requirements to each manufacturing source.
Develops and implements organizational capabilities in the areas of FACA, FMEA, DOE, SPC and other quality assurance methods suitable for Ferrotec's core products.
Responsible for the management of the Quality Department and supporting staff with focus on Livermore Operations, both Quality Assurance personnel , Quality Control group and inspectors..
Manages customer quality escalations with key accounts, including 8D and SCAR processes and provides leadership to execute responses, host, lead and manage meeting interfaces, thereby representing the Ferrotec corporate position.
Develops and implements the vision of future growth of the Quality group to ensure effective business growth, including staff hiring, efficiency improvements for growth and responsiveness to our customer.
Maintains and develops organizational quality metrics to report and measure business unit or process success.
Supervises QC and/or inspection personnel. Includes scheduling workload, employee development, and training and develops QC technician resources to allow promotion of a team member to the Quality Supervisor position to support the QC function, including:
Participates in the evaluation and qualification process of potential new suppliers.
Trains suppliers in customer specific requirements and other quality, safety, 6S/Lean technologies that are established as quality initiatives for continuous improvement.
Prepares reports for internal and external part/product failures (8D or similar) with corrective actions and root-cause analysis.
Completes data analysis and reports as required to establish milestones, goals and actions to achieve them.
Oversees the calibration system to assure it is in compliance.
Performs both internal and supplier audits as required to meet internal, ISO and customer requirements.
Supports activities required to maintain ISO certification.
Works to improve efficiency of inspection and strives to reduce the cost of quality.
Ensures that quality results are properly collected, reported and retained.
Works with purchasing to develop dock-to-stock criteria for suppliers.
Participates in the Material Review Board to disposition material, follow up with actions and report aging and other pertinent results.
