Accounting Manager (Finance)

Location: Hybrid-Statesville, NC

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the accounting department at Construction Metal Products in Statesville, NC, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and timely reporting. Manages a team, allocates tasks, and holds accountability for the accuracy and efficiency of the accounting process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting
  • Responsible for core accounting and financial processes/functions, which include: Revenue Recognition, COGS, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accruals, GL, Fixed Assets, and Consolidation for numerous management company entities.
  • Conduct month-end closing process of the general ledger, timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP, along with creation of appropriate income statements, balance sheets, and robust supporting account reconciliations.
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals overseeing all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll.
  • Prepare timely and informative account analysis, including review for unusual activity and fluctuations, along with variance analysis to budget and forecast

Internal Controls
  • Ensure that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including: data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Audit function responsible for annual SOX Management Testing.

Education/Experience
  • 5 years in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Has a curious nature and desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to promote teamwork among peers is a must
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Licenses / Certifications:

Physical Requirements:Must be physically capable of operating various machines and equipment, including computers, office equipment, telephones, etc. The physical demands are primarily those of sedentary work. Tasks may require extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
