Assistant Store Manager-LI (Transportation)



We're expanding with three new locations across Long Island and are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager. In this Bench Assistant Manager role, youll support Store Managers across our Long Island stores, helping to oversee daily operations. This position includes a base salary, performance incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities
Manage store operations, grocery and gourmet food production, inventory, store staff, schedules, merchandising, customer complaints and all other store operations, working in direct collaboration with the Store ManagerWork with all store departments regarding questions or assistance they need to perform their job betterPerform store walks to ensure that the store shelves are full and inventory is correctly placed out for customer purchase. Ensure that each department has all displayed dishes filled and all hot items are displayed and cleanWork closely with each Department Manager, ensuring that their departments are clean, stocked and staffedAssign duties to staff based on their areas of expertise, to ensure that they make use of their knowledge to render best services in the storeHandle customer complaints and returns in a cordial manner, creating mutual benefits to both the store and customersPrepare workers performance report at the end of every month to evaluate their performances, identifying areas with low performances to work onMaintain good store cleanliness by ensuring that the store is constantly cleaned and sanitized by the appropriate staffCreate a safe atmosphere by implementing safety measures for the protection of workers and customers, and handle emergencies promptlyOther duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume grocery store, including at least 3 years in an Assistant Store Manager role

Comprehensive knowledge of grocery store operations across all departments, including inventory control, product rotation, staffing, scheduling, and merchandise expertise

Solid understanding of safety protocols, with the ability to identify and prevent common hazards such as slips, trips, and falls, while maintaining compliance with store safety standards

Exceptional communication and presentation skills
