The South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our brand-new 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called "The Hill." Hand in hand with our partners--St. Luke's Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian--the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US.
The Youth Program Lead provides administrative support, leadership, and program supervision within the Youth Department at the South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA. In addition, the Lead develops relationships with participants and parents, and ensures a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants.
Key Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have current CPR certification or the ability to obtain within 45 days. Must have experience working with youth ages 6 -12 years old. Must have demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, and the ability to relate to youth of all ages. Must have the emotional maturity necessary to coach staff and mediate conflict. Must have ability to maintain records and data sheets (attendance, leadership assessments, parent surveys, etc.).
Physical Requirements: Must have ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for extended periods of time. Position may require bending, kneeling stooping, and crouching. Must have the ability to view/enter data and curriculum for long periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
Schedule Requirements: This is a part time position up to 25 hours per week, with a varying schedule based on need. Some weekends will be required and some 2pm-7pm week day shifts will be included. Applicants must be able to attend meetings and training which may fall outside of regular hours.
