ESSENTIAL DUTIES Directly responsible for developing and maintenance of Commercial/MBL Loan portfolio. Ensure all credit risk management activities (risk rating, annual reviews, etc.) are completed in a timely manner. Ensure approved/denied loans are within established limits. Prepare loan proposals and analysis to be reviewed by the MBL Loan Committee. Responsible for the development and implementation of effective Lending planning. Assist Management with long and short-term Credit Union planning. Develop a total lending strategy for the Credit Union. Participate in developing lending policies and procedures and ensure that they complement organizational goals. Execute established goals and coordinate their implementation with other departments and with subordinates. Ensure the effective performance of lending related services. Ensure that lending activities are conducted in accordance with established policy guidelines and standards, and are properly documented. Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure effectiveness. Ensure that policies are updated and are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends. Oversee, manage and review delinquencies, charge-offs, bankruptcies, and foreclosures. Present results to board of directors, as required. Responsible for the effective administration of lending functions. Manage and oversee expenses. Pursue cost-saving measures. Keep Management informed of loan activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems. Complete required reports and related documents promptly and accurately, and in compliance with Credit Union guidelines and policies. Ensure the maintenance of department records. Ensure the availability of adequate services and materials to support lending activities. Effectively supervise personnel, ensuring optimal performance. Responsible for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with members, vendors, the business community, and trade organizations. Ensure that members are properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and procedures. Ensure that requests, problems, and questions are promptly resolved. Ensure that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained throughout lending and business transactions with members. Manage vendor relationships and review vendor proposals geared at improving lending functions. Perform any additional duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly or indirectly supervises employees in the lending and collection departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Develop and set performance goals for the department. Ensure that the staff understand the goals and objectives and provides the necessary information, tools, coaching and training to achieve those goals and objectives.
