Accounting Manager 1 (Finance)

Zygo Navitar is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team at our Rochester facility. The position will report to the Navitar Finance Lead and will be directly responsible for the daily accounting functions of the business. This includes responsibility for financial close processes, financial reporting, working capital review, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls. This individual must operate with autonomy and meet agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are completed within corporate timelines.
  • Prepare month-end General Ledger journal entries and reconciliations, and proactively investigate and resolve reconciling items.
  • Support daily orders and sales reporting, including reconciliation of revenue, and revenue recognition SOX testing.
  • Analysis of cost of goods sold, work orders and manufacturing variances.
  • Analyze and report variances to budget/forecast to support decision-making.
  • Reconciliation and coordination of intercompany balances.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget.
  • Support operations team with the annual standard cost update and physical inventory.
  • Evaluate accounting policies and procedural control systems and work to improve effectiveness and compliance.
  • Support both internal and external audit requests (including SOX), and preparation of state and federal tax packages.
  • Support Finance Lead and BU Controller with other duties/projects as needed.
  • Develop business relationships with and support cross-functional business teams.
  • Lead a small site team
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of related accounting experience (Manufacturing experience a plus).
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and creative, with an action and problem-solving bias with the drive to deliver results.
  • Work requires effective oral and written communication skills as well as a strong analytical acumen.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a plus.

Compensation

Salary Minimum: $110,000

Salary Maximum: $140,000
