Device Engineering Lead (Finance)
Want to coordinate the implementation of device designs from product definition through alpha, beta, and production until the manufacturing and performance of the product meets established expectations for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you have bachelor's degree in Engineering along with eight plus years product development/engineering/manufacturing quality roles, we want to speak with you! We are currently looking for a Device Engineering Lead on our Design Engineering & Prototyping team in Richmond, VA. The role is responsible for guiding the design of overall product architecture, subassemblies and/or components to meet specification and cost targets. This lead would build and manage engineering documentation and ultimately transfer the designs to CMO's for commercialization. Documentation includes requirements, product specs, testing plans.
What you will be doing:
• Designing and developing electro-mechanical devices compliant to marketing/customer requirements; identifying and developing design improvements to existing products that improve capability and / or improve product performance and manufacturability.
• Leading and guiding engineers in the design, analysis, and development of new technology platforms and products; ensuring lean, collaborative and effective teamwork.
• Contributing to new product development processes, analysis, and standards that capture product best practices and lessons learned, improve product capability and robustness, and ensure compliance to industry and regulatory standards.
• Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with external sources and internal partners, including commercialization and manufacturing.
• Establishing and managing an intellectual property strategy to protect strategic areas.
• Handling quality system documentation related to CMOs quality.
We want you to have:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Advanced degree or certification in a relevant subject area preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in product development/engineering/manufacturing quality roles.
• Consumer electronics experience preferred; medical device experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and influence a multi-functional group of professionals without direct authority.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills are required. Must have the ability to deliver effective formal presentations to senior management.
• Some international travel required.
