Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) Red Wing is seeking a third Certified Nurse Midwife to join a team of 2 CNMs and 2 OB physicians, and 2 WHNPs in a team-based approach to maternal and women's health care. Our multi-specialty practice allows obstetric providers to work with specialists at Mayo Clinic in maternal and fetal medicine, medical genetics, reproductive medicine and other medical and surgical specialties as needed.
Position description
The Certified Nurse Midwife at MCHS Red Wing will provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, and well-woman gynecologic care to low and moderate risk women in a busy, multispecialty, collaborative practice. The CNM will collaborate with the medical director and other providers in the SE MN River Corridor OB/GYN Service-line to create and implement the highest standard of care based on Mayo values. The midwives get to know each woman and her family and encourage the patient to be involved in establishing a plan of care to meet her needs. Prenatal Care includes one-on-one appointments with the midwife, nurse-practitioner or obstetrician. Patients have access to nursing and educational support throughout their pregnancy. Labor and birth care is provided by the midwifery group with the assistance of the obstetrician when needed. The Rochester practice provides streamlined consultations and accepts referrals for all high risk cases.
Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral-prepared graduate of a school of nursing and midwifery program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. Body mobility, coordinated dexterity of hands, ears, and eyes; sensory acuity, and verbal ability are required.
Additional qualifications
Candidates with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience are strongly encouraged to apply to assume the role of lead midwife. New graduates will also be considered. Other preferred qualifications include: Active membership in the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM),experience teaching in the clinical setting, and additional certifications in fetal monitoring, lactation, and/or Surgical First Assistant. Ultrasound certification for first and third trimester and certification in the surgical first assistant role within one year of start date required.
License or certification
A current MN APRN license, current ACNM certification as a CNM, BLS certification, and NRP certification required.
