Leave and Benefits Administrator (Project Management)



The Leave and Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing and administering all Teammate leave of absence programs, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), parental leave, and other company-specific leave policies. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing excellent support to Teammates and managers throughout the leave process. The Leave and Benefits Administrator also oversees administrative functions of benefit plans not related to leave programs. This position requires an individual that excels in leadership. The Leave and Benefits Administrator reports to the SVP of Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and track all types of employee leaves (FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, military, personal, etc.)
Serve as the primary point of contact for Teammates and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, HIPAA). Consult with established employment counsel as needed.
Coordinate with third-party leave administrators and insurance providers
Maintain accurate and confidential leave records in HRIS (and other systems)
Provide timely communication and documentation to Teammates regarding leave status, rights and responsibilities
Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to ensure accurate pay and benefits continuation during leaves
Monitor leave balances and notify Teammates and managers of upcoming return-to-work dates
Assist with return-to-work accommodations and transitional work arrangements
Assign and oversee workload and performance of Benefits Specialist
Manage administrative functions of benefits plans outside of leave related items such as benefit related questions. Communicate and coordinate with broker and insurance carriers as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned

Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred
2+ years relevant experience required
Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA and other leave-related laws and regulations
Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel (3-4 times per year)
UKG experience a plus
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 20 pounds.
