Save the Children
Volunteer - Brand Design (Creative Design)
Waliku is an innovation project of Save the Children implemented on a pilot scale in Sumba Barat, Indonesia since 2018. Waliku is a child-centric, technological approach to support schools and communities. A mobile app facilitates attendance-taking, prompting teachers to follow-up on students who are absent. For very absent student, the teacher will recommend immediate care and referral to a local clinic or welfare office.
Timely identification of absenteeism is a challenge for schools. Paper-based systems for recording absenteeism are time intensive, inaccurate, and fail to provide schools with a realistic understanding of absences. Waliku helps to identify children who are critically absent so they receive timely interventions, thus decreasing their risk of education loss, illness, and social threats
The proposed role will work with the Waliku Team to develop a unique and memorable brand for Waliku and its publications, website, and its mobile and web application.
