WAN Engineer - 18898 (Architecture)
HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII – MDIS is currently seeking a WAN Engineer (Traffic Engineer) to work out of their Huntsville, AL office.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
The successful candidate will be working within the scope of the Enterprise Operations Group. The general environment for this opportunity consists of routing, switching, virtualization, storage, WAN/LAN, DR, VoIP, VPN, VTC, security, and monitoring. The successful candidate will be a senior level network engineer or architect, with recent hands-on experience with the same.
It is imperative that this candidate have at least 5 years of hands-on experience within a similar environment. The Sr Engineer will be a team member of the Enterprise Operations Group that ensures the stability and integrity of local and remote networking components. This individual has 24/7 responsibilities that are shared with the group and reports directly to the Manager of Enterprise Operations.
The Enterprise Operations Group is comprised of senior level engineers, committed to working together and achieving standards beyond typical engineering organizations. The successful candidate must have an excellent work-ethic, be able to produce tangible results, willing to share existing knowledge and knowledge gained while on the job with co-workers, must agree to accurately document their work, and be willing to occasionally travel to existing and future remote locations.
Non-Technical

Technical
· Troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions for customer issues related network connectivity, access to resources, and performance.
· Develop workaround solutions as appropriate.
· Monitor and assess current infrastructure components
· Install, configure, test, monitor, and maintain core infrastructure and remote networking components and resources
· Perform equipment and software upgrades
· Maintain familiarity with current computer and network products
· Adhere to corporate information security guidelines and promote information security among coworkers
· Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required –
· Knowledge of networking protocols, including but not limited to, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TUNNELING, TCP/IP Suite, SSL/TLS, NTP, VLAN, WLAN, SD-WAN
· Configure new and existing CISCO routers and switches
· Experience configuring multiple cascading CISCO switches
· Experience configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating NGFW, such as Palo Alto series firewalls.
· CISCO Call Manager configuration, operation, and maintenance
· Experience working with Voice/VoIP carriers (QWEST, LEVEL-3, GTT, CENTRUYLINK)
· Experience working with WAN carriers for circuit ordering, provisioning, installation, and test and turn-up.
· Experience analyzing and establishing QoS on LAN/WAN networks.
· Experience using any main orchestrator platform for SD-WAN
· Experience in projects involving regulations such as DFARS and ISO, implementations and / or audits
· Experiencing installing and provisioning CISCO wireless APs
