Sr. Merchandising Assistant - School Uniforms (Creative Design)



As a Sr. Merchandising Assistant, you will support the merchandising team in all aspects of product development and product merchandising to assist in the execution of category strategies. You are responsible for accurate and timely data input into various tools such as IPLM, Excel etc. You will schedule, set up, and prepare materials for key presentations as well as attend and participate in team meetings. You will work cross functionally with Design, Creative, Global Sourcing, Inventory Planning, Technical Design, Internet, LEO Sales and Retail to support the business in delivering profitable results. In addition, you will be responsible for training other MAs as one of your primary responsibilities. As a Senior MA, you will be expected to become an expert on systems and processes and participate as an agent of change when asked to represent merchandising on committees and a subject matter expert.

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Onboarding and training on all processes and systems.
  • Back up other MAs and Assistant Merchant duties that may include all system work (AP) as well as market research such as Market/Trend reports.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert representing Merchandising.
    Primary expert on and responsible for accuracy of all product information through proofing, Pads that feel the information catalogs and internet media.
  • Manage all product alerts
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data input (i.e. PC creation) into various tools such as IPLM, Excel, RMS, APIP, ILE, BPT.
  • Maintain key systems which are utilized daily by the team during the product life cycle.
  • Assist with weekly, omni, and milestone meetings by managing samples and providing reports.
  • Coordinate with Global Sourcing to order photo samples and C2 or line adoption samples.
  • Responsible for tracking and organizing category samples each season. Work closely with Design and Digital merchandise managing sample requests including photo samples.
  • Proof catalog and internet pages to ensure the accuracy of category assortment. Request suggested alternates, stop sales and product alerts.
  • Prepare reports and ad hoc project as needed
  • Support visual set ups and presentations adequately conveying the design and merchandising vision.
  • Prioritization and organizational skills; flexible to daily changing demands with good follow through.
  • Demonstrated systems proficiencies and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment under time constraints.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple job responsibilities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Takes initiative to achieve positive outcomes for team and business.
  • Problem solving, analytical and math skills.
