Associate Marketing Manager - Marine (Marketing)

We are looking for a full-time Associate Marketing Manager - Marine for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the creation and execution of marketing programs for various markets, which includes collaboration with the Business Segment and interfacing with Product Marketing Managers, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing Communications associates.  Other essential functions include:

• Assist with developing integrated marketing plans that will guide product introductions worldwide including market analysis, competitive positioning, advertising, PR, tradeshows, events, website and other key activities over the life cycle of the product 
• Collaborate with global Product Management and global Communications teams to define product positioning and messaging that communicate the value, benefits and unique selling points 
• Contribute to the development marketing and advertising plans in conjunction with Marketing Communications and Sales 
• Create and distribute a monthly segment report card with financial analysis, competitive information, and sales metrics 
• Work daily with significant attention to detail to ensure all internal and external product communication is accurate and consistent (including garmin.com, ads, press releases, sales training and packaging)
• Maintain strong product knowledge across all products in consumer segments 
• Work with product management and engineering to help define customer/business requirements early in the product concept stage with specific attention to the marketability of each feature 
• Coordinate with the cross-functional teams of Product Management, Engineering, Marketing Communications, IT and other departments for successful and timely launch of consumer products

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelors Degree from a four year college or university.  Other requirements include: 

• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) 
• Must possess a minimum of 1 years progressive marketing experience in a technical field 
• Demonstrates a strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, values and success 
• Demonstrates proficiency and strong aptitude for consumer electronics devices 
• Demonstrates proficient Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) 
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Possesses experience working with cross functional teams 
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization 
• Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business and experience working in an applicable industry is highly preferred
• Previous experience in the Marine or Boating industry is preferred and/or the willingness/desire to learn a new industry is highly preferred
