Broader Impacts Tema Coordinator (Finance)



The University of South Florida Libraries seeks applicants for the role of Broader Impacts Coordinator in support of faculty, student, and staff research and instructional activities. The Broader Impacts Coordinator will provide support for the many stages of information creation, helping USF creators and publishing researchers understand their rights under USF policy and during the publication process of most publishers, providing expert assistance on copyright questions, and tracking the impacts of research created by faculty at the university. This position reports to the Associate Director for Broader Impacts.Minimum Qualifications:
  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with two years of work experience in a library. Appropriate college coursework may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience with research impact metrics and tools (e.g., citation analysis, altmetrics).
  • Experience providing copyright assistance in an academic library.
  • Proficiency in using library and research databases.
  • Knowledge of copyright laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

  • Conducts bibliometric analyses using publication- and citation-based statistics to provide researchers and administrators with an in-depth understanding of scholarly impact for program review, grant applications and renewals, and recruitment and retention.

  • Tracks and prepares reports on funded research activities at the university.
  • \n
  • Collaborates with other library staff to support research dissemination and visibility.
  • \n
  • Stays current with changing copyright laws, applicable policies, disciplinary guidelines, and industry practices.
  • \n
  • Provides guidance and support regarding common copyright questions and permissions process.
  • \n
  • Conducts investigations on collection rights ownership and provenance to facilitate evaluation of collections for digitization.
  • \n
  • Facilitates the permissions requesting process for library collections and Broader Impacts partner projects.
