Responsibilities: Installation: Install and terminate fiber optic cable within customer premises, including homes, businesses, and data centers. Run and secure fiber optic cable in various environments, including walls, ceilings, and under floors. Connect fiber optic cable to network equipment, and optical network terminals (ONTs). Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of existing fiber optic installations to identify and resolve potential issues. Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network problems, including fiber breaks, signal degradation, and equipment malfunctions. Replace or repair damaged fiber optic cable and components. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installation details and troubleshooting steps. Prepare clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and explaining technical procedures in a clear and understandable manner. Always maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

We are searching for a highly motivated and skilled Premise Fiber Technician to join our team in a 6-month contractual role. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cabling within customer premises, ensuring reliable and high-speed internet connectivity. Installing, replacing, and maintaining fiber and Cat 5/6 outlets.Setting up ONUs, extenders, set-top boxes, and phones for customers.Troubleshooting Connexion equipment and products to ensure optimal performance.Testing signal strength at the house box using a signal meter.Installing and configuring multi-GIG products to meet service requirements.Diagnosing and troubleshooting fiber issues using OTDR back to network access points.Porting phone services to new ONUs as required.Utilizing Connexion programs to provision, add, swap equipment, and close out service jobs.Troubleshooting and optimizing Wi-Fi performance, including splitting networks for improved coverage.Performing fiber re-splicing at the house box when necessary.Running and replacing fiber drops or temporary drops when damaged.Replacing flowerpot enclosures or lids as needed.Assisting customers with basic setup of customer-owned mesh systems and equipment.Factory resetting equipment and updating firmware to resolve remote service issues.Reintegrating extenders to existing accounts following ONU swaps.Utilizing troubleshooting tools to diagnose issues independently and minimize the need for Technical Service Representative support.Conducting business site surveys, documenting findings, and completing tickets with detailed notes.Running Ethernet drops and terminating Cat 5/6 cables with RJ45 connectors.Setting up and troubleshooting phone lines to ensure proper functionality.Identifying and documenting fiber drops and vault-related issues, including capturing and attaching photos for records.Educating customers on installed devices, services, and best practices for optimal performance.Completing service tickets with detailed notes and attaching relevant photos of identified issues.Collecting, cleaning, resetting, and repackaging reusable equipment while ensuring proper e-cycling of old equipment.Accurately updating status codes, including in-route, arrival, and completion, in Connexion programs.Maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized service vehicle to support daily operations.
